The option of the Li River cruise big boats from Guilin to Yangshuo is for those who prefer to admire the natural beauty on the Li River instead of by road on the way to Yangshuo. As at 28th March 2021, there are 3 x Li River cruise big boats options to choose from – 4.5 Star Li River Cruise Boat, 4 Star Li River Cruise Boat and 3 Star Li River Cruise Boat.

4.5 Star Li River Cruise Option

The 4.5 Star Li River Cruise Big Boat is the best option operating along the river. On-board, there are also 4 x different types of seats available as follows:

VIP Seats;
Upper Deck Seats;
Lower Deck Seats;
Lower Deck Private Box;

The 4.5 Star Cruise ticket also includes a one-way private transfer from any hotel in Guilin to Zhujiang Pier and the Chinese buffet lunch on-board, which is a little better than that on the 4 Star Li River Cruise.

VIP Seats =USD $177 US dollars per person (adults & Children)
Upper Deck Seats = USD $139 per adult/ USD $75 per child
Lower Deck Seats =USD $128 per adult/ USD $62 per child

The ticket also includes one-way private transfer from any hotel in Guilin City to Zhujiang Pier and Chinese buffet lunch on the boat. The buffet lunch is better than that on the 4 Star Li Jinag River Cruise. The 4.5-star boat also offers limited English interpretation to passengers.

4 Star Li River Cruise Option

The 4 Star Li River Cruise is the mid-range option to experience the Li River on a cruise. The seating capacity on-board is less than that of the 3 Star Boat. Typically there is a capacity of 70 – 80 x passengers on-board whilst there are 3 x different seat types available.

3 Star Li River Cruise Option

The cruise ticket includes a one-way private transfer from any hotel in Guilin City to Mopanshan Pier and the simple Chinese packaged lunch on the boat. The 3-star Li Jiang River Cruise boat starts from Mopanshan Pier in Guilin and ends at Longtoushan Pier in Yangshuo.

For reference, both the 3 Star and 4 Star Li River Cruise options depart on a daily basis whilst the 4.5 Star Li River Cruise only departs on scheduled dates. Both of the 4 Star and 4.5 Star boats depart from the Zhujiang Pier and end at Shuidongmen Pier in Yangshuo provided there is no flooding. The 3 Star Boat departs from Mopanshan Pier in Guilin and arrives into Longtoushan Pier in Yangshuo.

Li River Private Raft Option

If you don’t want to share space with strangers on the Li River Cruise big boats, the private Li River motorized raft is another option. As at 1st January 2020, the routes of the private Li River motorized raft include Yangdi – Nine-horse Fresco Hill – Yangdi and Xingping – Nine-horse Fresco Hill – Xingping. For reference, a single raft can accommodate a maximum of 4 x passengers. Pricing regularly changes but tickets can be purchased at a ticket office.
