As is well-known, the Li River runs from Guilin to Yangshuo. The Li River section of Yangshuo has the most breathtaking views to enjoy.
In Yangshuo, the Li River start from Yangdi, flows past Xingping Old Town, Fuli Old Town, Yangshuo Town, and finally finishes at Caoping Village. The section is 69 kilometers long.
Along the section, it is dotted with Wave Stone Legend, Nine-horse Fresco Hill, Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal, Snail Hill, and other karst hills in different shapes. Xianggong Hill overlooks the Li River so that tourists can be able to enjoy the bird’s eye view of the river. Laozhai Mountain in Xingping Old Town is also a great spot to appreciate the views along the Li River. But it is dangerous to hike up the mountain.
The Li River section of Yangshuo offers a good option to admire the karst scenery on foot or by bike. You could hike from Xingping to/from Yangdi or just walk along the section in Yangshuo County. The private Li River motorized raft is another option to enjoy the natural beauty along the Li River section of Yangshuo between Yangdi and Nine-horse Fresco Hill or between Xingping and Nine-horse Fresco Hill.
The Li River section of Yangshuo features several old villages to explore as well. You could explore Linjia Village, Dutou Village, Fuli Old Town, and Liugong Village to experience local life during your Li River hike.
